On Saturday February 3rd, the Henrico County Department of Community Revitalization will offer a free 2-part workshop for homeowners. Part 1 will cover techniques and home improvements for Aging in Place, followed by a presentation on how to hire a contractor. This half-day workshop starts at 9:00 AM at the Eastern Henrico Government Center at 3820 Nine Mile Road. There is no charge and no advance registration is required. It will be over by 12:15.
Have you been concerned about your (or friends or relatives) ability to remain safely in your home as you age? Would you like to learn about techniques and improvements to make to your home to make it safer and more convenient? Then this workshop is for you.
Part 2 of the workshop is a presentation and discussion on how to hire a contractor. Have you ever put off having work done on your home because you were reluctant or nervous about hiring an honest, competent contractor? If so, come hear a licensing specialist from the State Board of Contractors provide solid advice on how to go about doing so and pitfalls to avoid.
In addition to the presentations, there will be exhibitors, hands-on demonstrations, door prizes, and light refreshments.
