National Night Out is an event that happens across the nation that encourages people to get out and make the community a safer place. The purpose is to encourage positive interaction between neighbors and the local police, and to promote safety by bringing people together and building community.

There are several events happening around Lakeside, and I encourage you to attend! If you can’t attend an event, grab a flashlight and take a walk through the neighborhood. Turn on your porch lights! Check in on your neighbors. By being part of the community, and part of the lives of the people that surround us, we create a safer space for everyone.
